Judgment (Judgment of the Court was delivered by S.M.Subramaniam J.) The present writ appeal has been instituted challenging the writ order dated 31.01.2025 in W.P.No.6582 of 2020.

The writ petitioner is the appellant, who participated in the process of selection for direct recruitment to the post of Panchayat Clerk at Karatholuvu Village Panchayat, Madathukulam Taluk, Tiruppur District. 3.As per notification dated 29.03.2018, the maximum age limit prescribed for general candidate is 30 and for Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and Most Backward Class, the age relaxation of 5 years was granted and accordingly, the maximum age limit is 35 years. Even as on 01.07.2018, the appellant was aged about 37 years and he was over aged.

4. Learned counsel for the appellant would submit that 10 years age relaxation ought to have been given to the appellant .

We are unable to agree with the said contention, since the notification in clear terms fixes the maximum age limit for Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and Most Backward Class as 35 years and over and above the age limit, the differently abled person, cannot claim. Therefore, the writ Court has rightly approached the issue in consonance with the rules applicable. Consequently,

the Writ Appeal stands dismissed. No costs. The connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
