Respondent Prayer: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to punish the respondent herein, The Chairman, Chennai Port Trust, Chennai-600 001 for deliberately disobeying the order of this Court dated 13.07.2021 made in W.P.No.16799 of 2017.

O R D E R

Heard Mr.S.Veerasamy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Karthikeyan, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent.

2. The order of the Writ Court was to the effect that the petitioner's representation dated 11.06.2013 should be considered on its own merits and appropriate orders would be passed in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks. The said order was passed by this Court on 13.07.2021 and that on 27.10.2021, the respondent had rejected the petitioner's representation. If that be so, I do not find any disobedience on the part of the respondent. If at all, the petitioner is aggrieved against the order of rejection, liberty is granted to the petitioner to file an appeal challenging the same in accordance with law.

3. With the above liberty, the Contempt Petition stands closed.
