Respondents Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to issue necessary orders and ensure the maintaining of pupil-teachers ratio in Middle Schools across the state of Tamil Nadu as required under section 25 of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. ORDER

(Order of the court was made by HULUVADI G.RAMESH,J.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.C.Munusamy, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

2. The writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to issue necessary orders and ensure the maintaining of pupil-teachers https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

ratio in Middle Schools across the state of Tamil Nadu as required under section 25 of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009.

3. The grievance of the petitioner, who is said to be a Secondary Grade Teacher by profession for the past ten years, is that there is disproportionate pupil-teachers ratio throughout the State of Tamil Nadu or in other words, there is shortage of teachers which leads to lack of academic achievements and poor result and vice versa, there are schools where surplus teachers are working where less number of students are studying and he has enlisted such disproportionate ratio maintained in his own Block called Senthurai Block, Ariyalur District, in para 8 of his affidavit.

In his affidavit, it is also stated that counselling for BT Assistant was scheduled to be taken place on 13.6.2018, and on the said date deployment would take place and after deployment process gets over, the remaining vacancies would be ascertained and the same would be shown in the display board at the counselling hall and therefore, the deployment process should be completed prior to the general counselling.

Having heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties and perused the averments made in the affidavit, we find that the petitioner seeks for strict maintenance of pupilteachers ratio throughout Tamilnadu with a noble intention that the students of the State should get high standard of education. Therefore, it is for the respondent authority to take note of the same and do the needful in accordance with law. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. The connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
