O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed praying to direct the respondent police to investigate and lay the final report with the jurisdictional Magistrate for the offence committed in Crime No.200 of 2006 within a time frame.

2. On 15.06.2015, this Court passed the following order: "This case was registered in the year 2005 in Crime No.200 of 2006 for alleged offences under sections 468,471,420 I.P.C. Since the investigation was not completed by the respondent police, the defacto/complainant approached this court for a direction to the police to file a final report.

2.Mr.A.V.Ilamurugan, Inspector of Police, Kovilpalayam Police Station, Coimbatore District has filed a status report in paragraph Nos.8,9&10 it is stated as follows:-

8. I submit that, on 15.01.2015 I have seized the forged document No.2853/2005 dated 25.05.2005 from the R.Shanmugasundaram. And the same was forwarded to the Learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.II, Coimbatore.

9. I submit that on 30.03.2015, based on the court summon, the defacto complainant appeared before the

Learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.II, Coimbatore and obtained defacto complainant's sample Signature and Thumb impression.

10. I submit that on 03.06.2015 the above said trial court had sent the Defactor Complainant's Sample signature and Thumb impression along with forged documents in a sealed cover to Forensic Science Laboratories, Chennai for comparison as well as verify the signature and thumb impression.

3. Since, this is a case of the year 2006, this court and constrained to issue a special direction to the Director, Tamil Nadu Forensic Science Laboratory, Chennai to give priority to the case in Kovilpalayam Police Station Crime No.200 of 2006 and send the report of the Handwriting Expert, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Post on 06.07.2015."

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instruction, submits that pursuant to the order passed by this Court on 15.06.2015, the Tamil Nadu Forensic Science Laboratory, Chennai have completed the examination of the documents and they have sent their report to the Court.

4. Today, Mr.Saravanan, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Kovilpalayam Police Station, is present before this Court.

5. In view of the same, the respondent police is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.200 of 2006 and file the final report within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
