ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 03.07.2017 and pass appropriate order with regard to notional promotion of the petitioner with effect from 2016 from the date of promotion of the petitioner's juniors and all other consequential monetary benefits of the petitioner.

2. Heard Mr.A.Bobblie, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.T.Chezhiyan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

3. In the counter filed by the respondents, it has been stated that the appointment by transfer to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police for the year 2014-15 is under consideration and the petitioner's name will also be included in the said panel. For the sake of clarity, the relevant portion of the counter is extracted as below: "15. Further, it is submitted that the proposal for Page No.2 of 4

inclusion of the name of the petitioner in the panel of Inspectors of Police (Taluk) fit for appointment by recruitment by transfer as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category-1) for the year 2014-15 is under consideration and order will be issued in due course and hence, his request for promotion to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category-1) is being processed by the 1st and 2nd respondents and the delay is neither wanton nor wilful."

4. Since the grievance of the petitioner is redressed, I feel this Writ Petition can be disposed by recording the same. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed. No costs.
