ORDER
Seeking a direction to the respondents to register a case on the basis of the petitioner's complaint dated 10.03.2015, the petitioner has come up with this petition.
2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents and perused the material placed on record.
3.It appears that a complaint dated 10.03.2015 has been sent by post to the Superintendent of Police, Tiruvarur, the 1st respondent herein and to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mylapore, Chennai, the 3rd respondent herein. The 1st respondent has forwarded the same
to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mannargudi, the 2nd respondent herein and enquiry has been conducted by the 2nd respondent. 4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mannargudi, had sent several letters to the petitioner, asking to appear in person for enquiry. 5.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has made allegations as against an high dignitary and therefore, his safety and security is peril. He further submitted that if sufficient protection is afforded to the petitioner, he will be able to appear before the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mannargudi, the 2nd respondent herein and present his case. 6.The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mannargudi, is present before this Court.
7.This Court directs the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mannargudi, to afford sufficient police protection to the petitioner. The petitioner is also directed to appear before the 2nd respondent on 30.04.2015 at 11.00AM. The 2nd respondent shall enquire into the complaint and take action in accordance with law, following the decision laid down by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Lalita Kumari v. Government of Uttarpradesh & Others reported in (2014) 2 SCC 1. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
