The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 27.05.2024 for the alleged offences punishable under Section 4(1)(i), 4(1)(aaa) 4(1-A)(ii) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act and under Section 328 of IPC in Crime No.356 of 2024 on the file of the respondent Police, seeks bail.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner is in custody from 27.05.2024 and he is also ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed to grant bail to the petitioner.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police raised objection stating that the petitioner along with other accused were found in possession of 204 liters of Country arrack and Carnival XXX Rum 180 ml of 48 packets. He further submitted that the petitioner has five previous cases, similar in nature, pending against him, and further, Goondas proposal is also pending against him. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of this case and the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) that the goondas proposal is also pending against the petitioner and also considering the antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
