Heard Ms.R.Apoorva, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Arumugam, learned Government Advocate for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

The petitioner has filed this Petition seeking a writ of mandamus, to permit him to retire from service as on 30.06.2017 notwithstanding the disciplinary proceedings pending against him in Charge Memo No.5311/A1/2015 dated 30.10.2015 and No.2925/A1/2017 dated 23.06.2017 passed by the 2nd respondent and to grant him all consequential service and monetary benefits, including all retirement and pensionery benefits.

Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, Mr.S.Arumugam, learned Government Advocate for the respondents on instructions submitted that the charges against the petitioner have been dropped and hence, the petitioner's representation will be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the above submission, this Writ Petition is disposed and the respondents are directed to pass orders by permitting the petitioner to retire from service and also to disburse the retiral benefits to him within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
