ORDER

The petitioner has filed the writ petition praying for a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to restore the petitioner's electricity service connection in S.C.No.610 situated in S.No.664/2 and 665/4, Nadukuppam Village, Tindivanam Taluk , Villupuram District.

The petitioner has obtained the industrial service connection for the purpose of prawn culture. It appears that the meter has become defective, as a result of which the petitioner has made representation. On account of non-payment of the consumption charges, the electricity connection has been disconnected. Now, the petitioner seeks for reconnection. 3.

In the counter affidavit filed by the respondent it is admitted that the energy consumption meter went defective and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

therefore, the minimum charges could not be properly assessed. 4.

Clause 11 of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Supply Code 2004 sets out the manner in which billing has to be done that there is no meter or the meter is defective. Therefore, the assessment should be strictly as found in Clause 11(2) of the Supply Code. Therefore, there shall be a direction to the respondent to calculate the supply by applying the procedure contemplated under Clause 11(2) of the Code intimating the petitioner of the same and on payment of the money, the electricity supply shall be restored.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
