Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's application dated 26.04.2016 in accordance with law and pass orders to issue joint patta in the name of the petitioner and his brothers and sister within the time frame stipulated by this Court. For Petitioner :

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner would state that his grandfather, viz., Thiru A.Arumugam, had purchased the properties in Re-Survey Nos.318, 319, Old Survey No.166/10 and New Survey No.144/4, situated at Nangunam village, Tindivanam, and after his demise, the petitioner's father had succeeded to the estate and he also died intestate on 06.11.2013, leaving behind the petitioner and his brothers and sister.

The petitioner submitted an application to the 2nd respondent seeking transfer of patta in his favour as well as in the names of his brothers and sister and since no response is forthcoming, the petitioner came forward to file the present writ petition.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner ; Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application / representation dated 26.04.2016 on merits and in accordance with law, after putting on notice the person/s concerned and pass orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner as well as to the person/s concerned.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
