ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondents for filing false report dated 20.03.2025 in NA.KA.No.686/2024/A1 in Contempt Petition No.940 of 2025, on the file of this Court, in compliance of the order dated 28.08.2024 in W.P.No.14965 of 2024. 2.

On perusal of the order passed by this Court dated 28.08.2024 in W.P.No.14965 of 2024, it is revealed that this Court restrained the respondents from disturbing the peaceful possession and enjoyment of the petitioner in respect of the property comprised in survey No.10/32 situated at Puthur Village, Kancheepuram District. However, the respondents were granted liberty to acquire the subject land, in the manner known to law. In the contempt petition in Cont.P.No.940 of 2025, the respondents filed a report dated 20.03.2025, thereby rejected the request made by the petitioner for issuance of patta. Recording the said report, the earlier contempt petition was closed by this Court by an order dated 16.04.2025.

3.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that, after the order dated 28.08.2024 passed by this Court in W.P.No.14965 of 2024, the respondents conducted enquiry to acquire the land. During the enquiry, it was found that the petitioner was not issued with any patta and the subject land was not assigned to the petitioner at any point of time. That apart, in the subject land a small construction has been put up and using the same as temple. Therefore, the request made by the petitioner was rejected for issuance of patta. 4.

Considering the above submissions, no contempt is made out against the respondents and the Contempt Petition stands dismissed. 30.07.2025 Index : Yes/No : Yes/No Speaking/Non Speaking order rts
