Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to take necessary action in pursuance to the representation dated 21.06.2021 given by the petitioner within a timeframe.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner complains of misappropriation of funds by the officials of the Panchayat Union at Thenmalpakkam Village, Chengalpattu. The present petition cannot be received at this level. It is for the petitioner to make out a cogent case before the District Collector for the District Collector to take steps, if deemed necessary.

2. Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.
3. W.P.No.18214 of 2021 is disposed of by permitting the petitioner to carry a detailed representation in respect of the matters complained of to the first respondent District Collector within a fortnight from date. The District Collector will cause an inquiry to be made upon receipt of the representation and will take appropriate steps in accordance with law, based on the findings of the inquiry within a period of ten weeks of the receipt of the petitioner's representation. It is needless to say that if any person is likely to be affected by the Collector's action, such person has to be given appropriate notice.
4. The Collector should reply to the petitioner's representation by detailing the steps taken or otherwise indicating adequate reasons how further action has been taken or why further action need not be taken, as the case may be. It is made clear that the allegations levelled by the petitioner have not been gone into and the District Collector will be free to decide on the matter in accordance with law.
W.P.No.18214 of 2021 is disposed of without any order as to costs.
