The criminal appeal filed under Section 374(2) Cr.P.C. r/w Section 27 of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 against the conviction and sentence passed by the Special Judge, Special Court for the cases under Prevention of Corruption Act, at Chennai - 104 made in C.C.No.28 of 2013 convicting the appellant under Section 8 of the prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and sentenced him to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for 3 months by its judgment dated 15.10.2020.

JUDGMENT

The appellant was convicted by the trial Court in C.C.No.28 of 2013 by judgment dated 15.10.2020 for offence under Section 8 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, against which, preferred this present criminal appeal. 2.The learned Govt. Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that the appellant could not be contacted and filed a memo along with a copy of the death certificate confirming the appellant died on 11.11.2025. In view of the death of the sole appellant, the criminal appeal stands dismissed as abated.
