The petitioner claims that the land measuring 10,000 Sq.ft in Old Survey No.17/2, New Survey No.304/1, in Pozhichallur Village, Chennai, Kanchipuram District which has been classified as cherinattam, has been in the possession of the family of the petitioner for a considerable period of time. It is stated that, therefore, the petitioner had made a representation on 22.06.2018 seeking grant of patta. This representation was primarily given to the Collector, Kanchipuram District with copies, among other officials to the Thasildar, Pallavaram Taluk, Pallavaram, Kanchipuram District.

2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that no action has been taken either by granting him patta or rejecting his request. But, however, taking into consideration, the complexity of the land involved namely serinatham and also that roads have been constructed over some of the land, it is only essential that the petitioner gives a proper representation giving correct details of the land for which he requires grant of patta. Then representation may be given primarily to the Tahsildar, Pallavaram Taluk and the representation is to be given enclosing all requisite documents on or before 20.01.2020. Thereafter, the said Tahsildar of Pallavaram Taluk may issue notice to the petitioner and grant opportunity of personal hearing, examine the documents and pass appropriate orders on merits with reasons on or before 29.02.2020.

3. With these observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.
