Prayer: Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue a trade licence to run a Broiler Chicken Shop in a rented premises which was unjustly not been considered by the respondents.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to issue a trade licence to run a Broiler Chicken Shop in a rented premises.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner has been running a Chicken Shop in the name and style of Bannari Amman Chicken Stall for the past seven years in a rented premises situated within the jurisdiction of the second respondent. There have been no arrears, violations or complaints against the petitioner. While so, for the tender period 2026-2027, the tender proceedings was conducted on 19.02.2026 at Thoppampalayam Panchayat Office, however, the petitioner was not permitted to participate in the tender process. There has been no legal disqualification preventing the petitioner from participating in the tender process. Hence, the petitioner made a representation on 25.03.2026 requesting the respondents to grant a Trade Licence to run the Broiler Chicken Shop in the rented premises, however, no action was taken. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the

petitioner dated 25.03.2026 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents.

5. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 25.03.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
