C O M M O N O R D E R These writ petitions are filed seeking direction to the first respondent to consider petitioner's claim petition dated 18.05.2021 made under Section 3G(5) of the National Highways Act, 1956 and pass final orders within time fixed by this Court.

2. It is not in dispute, the land of the petitioners were acquired for widening Chennai to Bangalore National Highway. The second respondent passed an award on 18.09.2020 fixing quantum of compensation. The petitioner not satisfied by the quantum of compensation fixed by the second respondent filed a claim petition before the first respondent/Arbitrator on 18.05.2021 under Section 3G(5) of the National Highways Act, 1956 and the same has not been considered and no final award has been passed till date. Hence the petitioner is before this Court.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would submit that the claim petition filed by the petitioner will be disposed of in accordance with law, within time fixed by this Court. 2/5

4. The first respondent is expected to complete the arbitral proceedings and pass final award within time fixed under the provision of Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. He is not expected to keep the arbitration proceeding pending without any progress.

5. Therefore, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the first respondent is directed to consider the claim petition filed by the petitioner dated 18.05.2021 and pass final award within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6. Accordingly, these writ petitions stand disposed of. No costs.
