Respondents Prayer: The Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant incentive increment by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.10.2015 in the light of G.O.Ms. No.324 dated 25.4.1995.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The writ petition has been filed seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant incentive increment by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.10.2015 in the light of G.O.Ms. No.324 dated 25.4.1995.

3. According to the petitioner, he was appointed as Physical education teacher in the year 1990 and subsequently, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

he acquired additional qualification of M.Phil., in master of Philosophy in Physical Education and Sports Science at Annamalai University in the year 2008. Though he is entitled for incentive increment for acquiring higher qualification, the respondents have not paid and therefore, he submitted a representation on 12.10.2015. Since it was not considered favourably, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Heard Mr.S.Vinothkumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.N.Srinivasan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

5. This Court considering the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondents 2 and 3 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 12.10.2015 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
