O R D E R

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence under Section6 of POCSO 1/5

Act 2012 and Section 9 of Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006 in Crime No.44 of 2025, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner and the victim girl, aged 17 years, were in love affair and the petitioner had sexual intercourse with the victim girl and due to which, the victim girl got conceived.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent and it is a matter of love affair. The learned counsel further submits that the petitioner is ready and willing to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) reiterated the prosecution case and confirmed that the victim girl is aged about 17 years and she is now 8 months pregnant.

record.

6. Considering the fact that the victim girl is aged 17 years and she is now under advanced stage of pregnancy, this Court is declined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, the criminal original petition is dismissed. 22.05.2025 mjs Note:-
