By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner would state that he is a sports person and won many laurels in the sport of roller skating and got the following medals:

Year National Championsh ip Name of the meet Relevant Form I/II/IV Medal Total marks 2015-16 State Tamilnadu Roller Skating Championship Enclosed Silver 2014-15 District District Roller Skating Championship Enclosed Gold 2013-14 District District Roller Skating Championship Enclosed Gold 2012-13 District District Roller Skating Championship Enclosed Silver According to the petitioner, when the Certificate Verification was held on 20.06.2016, the respondents refused to take into account the certificates for the year 2012-14 and the reason given by them is that the State Association, pursuant to its application in April 2014, came to be recognised by SDAT in January 2015. It is contended that the petitioner, as a sportsman, though participated in various events and won medals, his rightful claim has not been taken into consideration and hence, came forward with this writ petition.

This Court, vide interim order dated 28.06.2016, has suo motu impleaded the Chairman of the Sports Board/Convenor of Sports Committee for TNEA as party to this writ petition and also made it clear that selection and appointment of candidates under sports quota is subject to the result of the writ petition.

4. Mr.L.P.Shanmugasundaram, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 2, 4 and 5 would submit that the petitioner was allowed to participate in the

counselling under sports quota and he was allotted seat in Civil Engineering in Jaya Engineering College, Thiruvallur District and the petitioner is also willing to accept the said provisional allotment.

5. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner who would submit that the petitioner is prepared to accept the said allotment and willing to join the said course in the Jaya Engineering College, Thiruvallur District as per the counseling process.

6. Mr.L.P.Shanmugasundaram, learned Special Government Pleader also produced before this Court the Provisional Allotment Order in respect of the petitioner in Application No.159289, Admission No.SP161106CE0002 dated 01.07.2016 in Ref.No.699/EA3/2016 and he is directed to hand over the same to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner under due and proper acknowledgment and accordingly handed over.

7. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
