This Civil Revision Petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking for a direction to the learned Additional District Judge, Chengalpattu, to dispose the case in M.C.O.P.No.177 of 2022 as expeditiously as possible.

2. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners are respectively the wife and daughter of the deceased Dharuv Mahajan, who was working as an Senior Analyst in Ford Motor Private Limited. The said Dharuv Mahajan died in an accident occurred on 09.09.2018 and the petitioners have filed a motor accidents claim original petition in the year 2019, however, on account of covid, the petition got numbered only in the year 2022 and taken up on file in M.C.O.P.No.177 of 2022. Even thereafter, the respondents have not filed the counter so far and the case is being delayed for no fault on the petitioners' side and only now the case stands posted for filing of counter. She further submitted that the petitioners/dependents of the deceased are suffering due to the delay in the disposal of the case. Hence, the present petition has been filed seeking for a direction to dispose the petition as expeditiously as possible. 2 / 4

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and perused the materials available on record.

On perusal of records, it is seen that the husband of the 1st petitioner died in an accident during the year 2018 and despite the petition filed by the petitioners in 2019, being numbered in the year 2022, there is no progress in the trial. Therefore, the petitioners, who are the wife and daughter of the deceased, put to unnecessary hardship.

5. In view of the above, this Civil Revision Petition stands allowed with a direction to the learned Additional District Judge, Chengalpattu, to dispose M.C.O.P.No.177 of 2022, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of nine months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
