(Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH,J.) This criminal miscellaneous petition has been filed to suspend the sentence imposed on the petitioner by judgment and order dated 21.10.2021 passed in S.C.No.7 of 2019 on the file of the Principal District and Sessions Court, Thiruvarur and to enlarge the petitioner on bail pending disposal of the above appeal.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner had absconded on 16.12.2019, pursuant to which, Non-Bailable Warrant was issued by the trial Court and he was secured almost after a year and thereafter, trial continued.

In the light of such conduct of the petitioner during trial, it may not be appropriate for this Court to grant suspension of sentence and bail to the petitioner.

Therefore, this criminal miscellaneous petition stands dismissed. The Registry is directed to post the main appeals for final disposal in the usual course.
