The petitioners who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Section 387 of IPC, in Crime No.281 of 2022, seek anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant and others were having a metal called "Iridium". In order to buy the said metal, the petitioners herein and other accused persons paid a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- as demanded by the defacto complainant. Thereafter, the petitioners herein along with other accused have threatened the defacto complainant at the knife point and stolen away the money received by the defacto complainant by throwing chilly powder on the face of the defacto complainant and escaped from the scene of occurrence. Hence, the complaint.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are innocent persons and no way connected with the alleged offence. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the petitioners herein threatened the defacto complainant at the knife point and also stolen away the money received by the defacto complainant and also the said "Iridium". He would also submit that there is no change of circumstances after the previous dismissal order passed by this Court. Hence, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.
5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the bad antecedents of the petitioners, the custodial interrogation of the petitioners is very much required in this case. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.
