ORDER

This writ petition is filed to direct the second respondent to accept, register and release the sale certificate dated 06.05.2002.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has purchased the subject property from the public auction sale conducted by the DRT, Chennai. After paying the entire sale consideration, the sale certificate

was issued in favour of the petitioner. When the petitioner presented the sale certificate before the second respondent for registration on 15.05.2023, the same was orally rejected by the second respondent. Hence, this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would further submit that the petitioner is ready and willing to pay the required stamp duty and registration charges for registering the said sale certificate. Hence, he prays for appropriate orders.

4. Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the second respondent has orally rejected the petitioner's sale certificate for registration. Hence, this Court may direct the petitioner to produce the same before the second respondent, after the payment of applicable charges.

5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Since the petitioner is ready and willing to pay the applicable charges, this Court does not find any impediments for the second respondent to register the petitioner's sale certificate dated 06.05.2002. Therefore, this Court directs the petitioner to present the sale certificate dated 06.05.2002 before the second

respondent, after paying all the applicable charges. Upon such receipt, the second respondent is directed to ensure the payment made by the petitioner and thereafter register the sale certificate, if it is otherwise in order. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
