ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to disburse the reimbursement of the amount incurred towards the medical expenses of the petitioner during the period from 23.02.2011 till 07.03.2011 and the bill submitted thereon forthwith with interest applicable for the same.
2. Heard Ms.S.Pavithrashini, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a senior citizen and retired Government Servant. The petitioner had some ailments for which she had undergone treatment at Venkatramana Hospital at Chengalpet and she had submitted the medical bills and other required documents. Since her claim was not considered so far, she is before this Court by way of this Writ Petition. Page No.2 of 6
4. On perusal of the records, it is seen from the letter dated 17.05.2012 that she should furnish the final bill and necessary certificates from DME, Chennai / DMO @ District, as per G.O.Ms.No.458, Fin (Pension) Department, dated 21.09.2007.
5. It is claimed by the learned counsel for the petitioner that all those informations have been duly submitted. According to the petitioner, the medical bill which has been submitted by the petitioner as early as in the year 2014 is not yet settled so far.
6. The petitioner who is a pensioner cannot be allowed to run from pillar to post for getting her medical bill reimbursement. The respondents ought to have taken the petitioner's representation seriously and allowed her claim for reimbursement. According to the letter dated 05.02.2014, sent by the Assistant Treasury Officer to the son of the petitioner, the medical file of the petitioner has been entrusted to the Directorate on 28.11.2011. But so far, no order has been passed. Page No.3 of 6

Since it is learnt that the file is pending with the Director of Pension, this Court suo-motu impleads the Director of Pension, 259, Anna Salai, 111 Block, II Floor, DMS Campus, Teynampet, Chennai - 06, as the third respondent in this petition and the third respondent is directed to consider the claim of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks.
8. In the result, this Writ Petition is allowed and the third respondent is directed to consider the claim of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
