O R D E R

The petitioners have filed the above Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus to consider the petitioners' representation dated 04.11.2019 to issue patta to the petitioners in S.No.464/6 measuring 500 sq.m., S.No.468/4 measuring 735 sq.m. and S.No.468/6 measuring 348 sq.m situate in Munnur Village, Marakanam Taluk, Villupuram District under Gramanatham Scheme to cancel the classification of Government Poramboke in Revenue Records.

2.Mr.M.C.Swamy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that inspite of the communication dated 13.12.2019 issued by the 2nd respondent to the 3rd respondent, the 3rd respondent has not conducted any enquiry and passed any order so far.

3.Mr.S.N.Parthasarathi, learned Government Advocate taking notice for the respondents submitted that the 3rd respondent may be directed to conduct enquiry and file a report before the 2nd respondent within a period of eight weeks.

4.Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioners, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 3rd respondent to act upon the communication dated 13.12.2019 issued by the 2nd respondent and conduct enquiry and file a report to the 2nd respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Based on the report submitted by the 3rd respondent, the 2nd respondent shall pass suitable orders, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of submission of the report. 5.With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
