This petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to consider the petitioner's representation finally ending with 06.10.2015 to the 2nd respondent with a copy communicated to the 3rd respondent for reimbursement of medical expenses incurred on the petitioner's spouse and remit the same early without further delay. ORDER

The petitioner is a retired Director of Tourism Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. A request has been made by the petitioner to the respondent Nos. 1 and 2 seeking reimbursement of the medical expenses incurred for the treatment of his wife. On receipt of the representation dated 07.08.2015, the respondent No. 1 has placed the same before the District Level Empowerment Committee, vide proceedings dated 18.08.2015. place and hence, thereafter a reminder was sent to the respondent No. 2 on 06.10.2015. Since no further action is forthcoming on the part of the respondents, the present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner before this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.

3. Considering the facts stated above, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the District Level Empowerment Committee, headed by the District Collector, to finally decide the representation of the petitioner as directed by the respondent No. 1 in proceedings dated 18.08.2015, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order and thereafter, communicate the same to the petitioner. On receipt of the same, the petitioner can work out the suitable remedy in the manner known to law.

4. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
