ORDER

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. In view of the order that this Court proposes to pass and also the limited relief that is sought to be granted, notice to the respondents 5 and 6 is dispensed with.

2. The present writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representations dated 17.03.2025, 24.11.2025 and 09.03.2026 on merits and in accordance with law and consequently, direct the respondents to prohibit any

further quarrying, excavation or soil extraction activities in Sithambakkam Lake situated in Survey Nos.379/1 and 361 at Tiruvallur District.

3. At the outset, the learned Government counsel appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 would submit that under similar circumstance, the Division Bench of this Court had directed petitioner therein to approach the Green Tribunal, if so permissible in law.

4. On this being pointed out, learned counsel for petitioner would submit that petitioner may be granted liberty to approach the Green Tribunal.

5. In view of the above, petitioner is granted liberty to approach the Green Tribunal and seek redressal of his grievance, if permissible in law. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views on the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the case on its own merits and in accordance with law.
