ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondents to consider his representation dated 19.04.2025 and to direct the fourth respondent to admit the petitioner's son namely P.Manikandan to Stanley Government Hospital in respect of Post-surgery complication to both his legs.
2. When the matter came up before this Court on 11.06.2025, this Court had directed the Prison Authority, Central Prison-I, Puzhal, Chennai, to produce the petitioner's son namely P.Manikandan before this Court on 12.06.2025 and also directed the Doctor from the Government Stanley Medical College
Hospital, Chennai, who gave treatment to the said Manikandan to appear before this Court on the said date.
3. Accordingly, today (12.06.2025), the said Manikandan was produced before this Court by the Prison authority. Further, Dr.T.Sathish Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Orthopedics Surgery, Government Stanley Medical College Hospital, Chennai - 600 001 and Prof.C.Asokan, PRO-R & Unit Chief, Department of Orthopedics Surgery, Government Stanley Medical College Hospital, Chennai - 600 001 appeared before this Court. On their appearance, this Court directed the Doctor to examine the said Manikandan in the dispensary attached to the High Court campus.
4. After examining the said Manikandan, the Doctor gave oral opinion that the external wounds have already healed and as of now, no continuous treatment is required.
5. In view of the oral opinion given by the Doctor, this Court is of the opinion that as of now, no treatment is required as sought for by the petitioner.
6. However, the Prison Authority is directed to give a better treatment to the said Manikandan as and when necessary, in the hospital attached in Puzhal.
7. With the above observations and directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
