Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider my representation dated 01.04.2025 and grant leave to me for getting free and better treatment in Madras Medical College and Government General Hospital for a period of 6 months.

2. The petitioner is undergoing life sentence in Central Prison - I, Puzhal. He is presently suffering from oral cancer. The respondents also confirm this condition. The medical officer attached to Central Prison - I, Chennai has recommended that surgery has to be performed on the petitioner.

3. We therefore direct the respondents to shift the petitioner to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital for surgery and appropriate treatment. 2/5

4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is allowed. There shall be no order as to costs.
