A sudden altercation between the husband of the petitioner and one Venkateswaran, watchman of the bungalow has led to registration of complaint.

The petitioner herein has given a complaint against the said Venkateswaran and same is also under enquiry. In this circumstances, the petitioner is before this Court alleging that the police is harassing her under the guise of investigation in Crime No.170 of 2024. 3.

Reading of the complaint in Crime No.170 of 2024, registered for the offence under Sections 294(b), 323, 324 & 506(ii) IPC is given by one Venkateswaran against Arun, Prakash, Santhosh and few others indicates that at the time of occurrence, admittedly, the petitioner was also present in the scene of occurrence. Therefore, for proper enquiry, her statement is required and therefore, if the police indulged in investigation without violating the procedure established, same cannot be construed as harassment. At the same time, it is noted that this petitioner has also given a complaint which need to be investigated in the manner known to law.

Thus, the respondent police is directed to follow the Police Standing Order and direction of this Court pertaining to the case and case in counter and complete the investigation within a period of 4 months. 5.
