Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the request of the petitioner dated 30.12.2013 for change of type of accommodation from Govt. rented quarters to public quota, as granted to other similarly placed person vide Government Order (2D) No.343 & 344, Housing & Urban Development Department, dated 14.11.2007 respectfully as well as undergo

M.S.2d No.258, Housing and Urban Development Department, dated 20.03.2008 on the file of the first respondent Government and thereby issue appropriate orders of allotment of public quota, in respect of his occupied premises at 446/1, 7th Main Road, Shanthi Colony, 7th Main road, Anna Nagar, Chenai - 40.

ORDER

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondent to consider the request of the petitioner dated 30.12.2013 for change of type of accommodation from Government rented quarters to public quota, as granted to other similarly placed person vide G.O.Ms (2D) No.343 & 344, Housing & Urban Development Department, dated 14.11.2007 respectfully, as well as undergo G.O.Ms.(2D) No.258, Housing and Urban Development Department, dated 20.03.2008 on the file of the first respondent Government and thereby issue appropriate orders of

allotment of public quota, in respect of his occupied premises at 446/1, 7th Main Road, Shanthi Colony, 7th Main road, Anna Nagar, Chenai - 40.

2. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the State made a submission that the authorities competent have already taken possession of the subject property on 26.09.2022 and therefore, the case do not exist as of now.

3. Since the relief sought for lost its relevance and no further adjudication is required. Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed. There will be no order as to costs.
