Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of writ of mandamus, directing the respondents herein to count two years Rural Welfare Officer training period undergone by the petitioners at Perianaickan Palayam Training Centre Coimbatore and Gandhi Gramam Training Institute Dindigul for increment and grant increment in the posts in which they were holding as on 30.7.1992 and consequently refix their pay and pension together with arrears of pay and pension.

O R D E R

The petitioners are retired Government employees of Rural Development Department. According to the petitioners, two years Rural Welfare Officer training period undergone by them have not taken into account for the purpose of payment of increment and related benefits including pension. The petitioners therefore submitted individual representation on 12.08.2013, requesting the first respondent to recognise their earlier training period for the purpose of fixing pension and other benefits. Since the said representation was not considered, the petitioners are before this Court. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner by placing reliance on the earlier orders passed by this Court dated 18.08.2014 and 22.09.2014 in W.P.Nos.22121 of 2014 and 25759 of 2014 submitted that in similar circumstances, this Court directed the respondents to count the two years Rural Welfare Officer training period undergone by the respective petitioners for the purpose of fixing their pension. Since the petitioners are similarly situated, they are also entitled to the benefits of the training period.

3. The first respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representation submitted by the petitioners, dated 12.08.2013 on merits and as per law and in the light of the orders passed by this Court dated 18.08.2014 and 22.09.2014 in W.P.Nos.22121 of 2014 and 25759 of 2014. Such exercise shall be completed with in a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
