The writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 04.06.2015 to provide compassionate appointment.

2. According to the petitioner, he hails from schedule caste community, his father Periyasamy, who was working as a Village Assistant, died on 26.01.1993. Immediately, the petitioner's mother gave a representation dated 24.05.1993 to the second respondent seeking compassionate appointment. Since, the representation was not considered, the petitioner gave a representation dated 04.06.2015 to the second respondent. But no order has been passed so far and therefore, the petitioner filed the present writ petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. Heard the submissions of Mr.M.Velmurugan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.L.Mahendran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4.Mr.M.Velmurugan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's mother submitted a representation seeking compassionate appointment on 24.05.1993, for which, an acknowledgment was also given. But the second respondent sent a communication dated 06.02.2008 stating that the application of the petitioner is not pending before him and advised the petitioner to approach the third respondent for further details. The learned counsel further submitted that the representation given by the mother of the petitioner has to be considered by the respondents according to law.

This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the second respondent to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 04.06.2015 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.

6.The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
