By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner claims that he is an Advocate and had completed the Law degree in Shri Balaji College of Law, Bangalore, which is affiliated to the Bangalore University and also enrolled as an Advocate in the Rolls of Bar Counsel of Tamil Nadu. The petitioner would further claim that he is an Advocate handling criminal cases, more particularly, sensational cases and also the Headquarters Advocate of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam [DMK party] and also the son of the reputed Speaker, [late] R.Vetrikondan. According to the petitioner, on account of his profession and occupation, he is vulnerable to attacks from some enemies as well as henchmen https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

and apprehending danger to his life, applied for Arms license to the respondent vide application dated 09.11.2015 and since no orders have been passed, he came forward to file the present writ petition.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and he would submit that on a thorough verification and consideration of all the materials only, the Arms license will be issued. 4.

This Court considered the rival submissions and also perused the materials placed before it.

Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner in the application dated 09.11.2015, for getting Arms license, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the said application on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. 6.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.

Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
