[RESPONDENTS] PRAYER : Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue Writ of mandamus to direct the third respondent to permit the petitioner to pay the normal reading bill as paid in the previous months in Service Connection No.H 1948 at No.255DA 17/C R.M.K.Nagar, Mettu Street, Perambalur Town, Perambalur District.

Heard Mr.K.Murugesan, learned Counsel appearing in person and Mr.P.Gunaraj, learned counsel who accepts notice for the respondent Board and with their consent the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.
2.The petitioner who is a practicing Advocate is residing at Door No.255 DA, 17/C, RMK Ngar, Mettu Street, Perambalur Town & District. The said house premises has been given electricity service connection bearing No.H 1948. The petitioner would state that after the Electric Meter was fixed in the premises, there was an error in the recording of the current consumption charges and therefore, the petitioner submitted representations dated 12.11.2014, 10.06.2015, 01.10.2015 and 06.10.2015 to the respondents. However, none of the representations have been considered by the respondents. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would state that the petitioner is ready and willing to pay in terms of the previous billing i.e. prior to the fixing of the Electronic Meter and approached the third respondent for remitting a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only). However, the third respondent is now insisting on the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.34,000/-.
4.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Board submitted that the third respondent will consider the petitioner's representations and will pass orders on merits. 5.In the light of the above, there will be a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 12.11.2014, 10.06.2015, 01.10.2015 and 06.10.2015, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till such time, the electricity supply to the petitioner's house shall not been disconnected, which shall be subject to the condition that the petitioner remit a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) to the third respondent, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
