A.V.Natarajan ..Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner application dated 11.05.2018 for year 2017-18 and application dated 06.04.2018 for year 2018-19 and further direct the first respondent to renew the license.

ORDER

Heard the learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the first respondent. Despite service of notice and name of the 2nd respondent is printed in the cause list, none represents for him.

2. This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's renewal applications dated 11.05.2018 for the year 2017-18 and 06.04.2018 for the year 2018-19.

3. The learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that based on the licence granted by the first respondent, the petitioner has erected a hoarding at 1/51, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Paulwells Road, Rajeswari Colony, St.Thomas Mount in the year 2016. The renewal application submitted by the first respondent has not been disposed of so far. It is further submitted that it would suffice to direct the first respondent to pass orders on the applications of the petitioner.

The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent submitted that on 28.06.2018, the first respondent has sought opinion of the Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) to take further action on the renewal applications and on receipt of the report, the first respondent would pass appropriate orders on the applications in accordance with law.

Taking note of the facts of the case and the submissions of the learned counsels on either side, the Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) shall sent his report as expeditiously as possible to the first respondent. On receiving the report, the first respondent shall pass final orders on the renewal applications of the petitioner dated 11.05.2018 and 06.04.2018, on merits and in accordance with law. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks. Till such time, the first respondent shall not take any coercive actions.

6. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
