Respondents in all the four Writ Petitions Writ Petitions in W.P.Nos.32270, 32271, 32272 and 32273 of 2013 filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to select and appoint the writ petitioners with Roll No.12PG14020004, 12PG14240002, 12PG14040008 and 12PG14290011, respectively, to the post of PG Assistant Home Science based on the merit in selection for direct recruitment to the post of PG Assistant 2011-2012 dated 28.02.2012, by considering the qualification of M.Sc. Home Science Extension Education as eligible degree with consequential and other attendant benefits including seniority based on merits and in the selection, within a time frame to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

For Petitioner : Mr.S.Nedunchezhiyan in all the four Writ Petitions For Respondents : Mr.A.Rajaperumal, Additional Government Pleader in all the four Writ Petitions C O M M O N O R D E R These writ petitions have been filed to direct the respondents to select and appoint the writ petitioners with Roll No.12PG14020004, 12PG14240002, 12PG14040008 and 12PG14290011, respectively in W.P.Nos.32270 to 32273 of 2013, to the post of PG Assistant Home Science based on merit, in the direct recruitment to the post of PG Assistant 2011-2012, published vide notification dated 28.02.2012, by considering the qualification of M.Sc. Home Science Extension Education as eligible degree with consequential and other attendant benefits including seniority, in the selection, based on merits, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. The grievance of the writ petitioners is that they have possessed the Post Graduate Degree of M.Sc. Home Science Extension Education.

However, it was not treated as equivalent to the Post Graduate Degree of M.Sc. (Science).

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners states that during the pendency of the writ petitions, the Government have issued orders granting equivalence in respect of the Post Graduate Degree of M.Sc. Home Science Extension Education and Post Graduate Degree of M.Sc. (Science).

4. Since the Government has granted equivalence in respect of both the Post Graduate courses, the case of the writ petitioners is to be considered based on the Government Order.

5. Thus, the writ petitioners are permitted to submit a representation, along with a copy of the Government Order passed in this regard to the competent authorities and in the event of receiving any such representation, the authorities competent, shall consider the same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law.

6. With these observations, these writ petitions stand disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
