Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to mutate the revenue records viz. Chitta, adangal and village "A" register in the name of the petitioner in respect of land measuring to an extent of 7 1⁄2 cents comprised in Survey No. 7/19 situated at Olaipadi Village, Kunnam Taluk, Perambalur District, on the strength of the assignment dated 12.09.2001 bearing No. 61/411 issued by the 2nd respondent and the patta bearing No. 1936, based on the representation dated 09.02.2015 and 16.02.2015 made to the 1st respondent herein, within a period stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

Based on the assignment made in favour of the petitioner on 12.09.2001, followed by patta said to have been issued in the name of the petitioner and his brother, the petitioner made two representations on 09.02.2015 and 16.02.2015 seeking mutation of revenue records. As no orders were passed on the said representations, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

Considering the pendency of the representations of the petitioner dated 09.02.2015 and 16.02.2015, with regard to the relief sought, without going into the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, last of which is dated 16.02.2015 and pass appropriate orders on the said representation, on merits and in accordance with law and after affording a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
