Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to take action so as to step up the pay of petitioner on par with his juniors whose basic pay is higher than petitioner from the date of implementation of 5th pay commission i.e., from 01.01.1996 and grant arrears of pay and allowances to the petitioner for the period from 01.01.1996 to till date.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed in CRPF on 01.12.1990 and he was paid correct salary till 31.12.1996. After implementation of the 5th Pay Commission, the juniors of the petitioner were getting more pay than the petitioner and therefore, he gave a representation to the third respondent for revision of the pay scale. Since it was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. Heard Ms.R.Meenakshi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.P.Sengottuvel, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
4. This Court, considering the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner and without going into the merits of the case, directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.01.2014 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
