Mr.S.Madhusudanan, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice for R1 and is armed with instructions to enable a final disposal of this Writ Petition, even at the stage of admission.

2. The petitioner seeks a mandamus to Assistant Executive Engineer/Enforcement Vellore/R1 to dispose her representation dated 22.04.2024 expeditiously. Therein, the petitioner has sought compensation for the demise of her mother by electrocution. An FIR has also been registered by the Arcot Taluk Police Station, Ranipet in Cr.No.218 of 2023 under Section 174 Cr.P.C.

3. Mr.Madhusudanan, prima facie, states that no liability would enure to R1, seeing as the FIR reveals that the electrocution was on account of an unauthorised drawal of electricity by R2. To be noted, the version of R2 is unavailable, as notice is yet to be issued to him.

4. Be that as it may, since the prayer of the petitioner is itself only for disposal of representation, mandamus is issued to R1 to hear the petitioner as well as R2, conduct enquiry, consider all relevant documents and dispose representation dated 22.04.2024, in accordance with law and all applicable Rules and Regulations, within a period of eight (8) weeks from date of receipt of a copy of this order.
