Mr.K.Sathish, Government Advocate Order This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus directing the first respondent to consider and pass a detailed order on merits and in accordance with law on the review petition dated 20.02.2026 submitted by the petitioner within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he petitioner was appointed as a Grade II Warder on 01.12.2018 through the Employment Exchange and his services were regularised with effect from 01.12.2020. While he was serving in the Central Prison, Coimbatore, he was placed under suspension by proceedings dated 27.09.2023 and a charge memo dated 25.10.2023 was issued alleging that he had supplied a mobile phone and battery to a prisoner. The petitioner denied the charges and repeatedly requested copies of the relied upon documents to submit his written statement of defence. However, the documents were not furnished before the enquiry. The enquiry was conducted and the petitioner was ultimately dismissed from service. Though the appellate authority ordered a de novo enquiry, the disciplinary authority again completed the enquiry and

imposed the punishment of dismissal. The petitioner's statutory appeal was rejected by the 2nd respondent on 20.08.2025. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a review petition dated 20.03.2026 before the first respondent. As no orders have been passed on the review petition, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking the aforesaid relief.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents.

Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought in this writ petition, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's review petition dated 20.03.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 29-06-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order SRN
