Heard Mr.J.Agni Selvaraj, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the first to third respondents. With the consent of either side, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage. 2.The petitioner seeks to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to dispose of the petitioner's patta modification (name transfer) application's dated 19.04.2014 seeking for modification of patta in favour of the petitioner's nanja land situated at Nenmeli Village, Thirukazhukundram Taluk, Kanchipuram District comprising survey no.107, measuring 22 cents vide common patta no.564 within a stipulated time.

3.By a representation dated 19.04.2014, the petitioner has sought for appropriate modification in the revenue record. The application filed by the petitioner has been forwarded by the District Collector, Kanchipuram to the Tahsildar, Thirukazhukundram, Kanchipuram District/3rd respondent. Since the Writ Petition is disposed of without notice to the respondents 4 and 5, the merits of the contentions raised by the petitioner are left open to be decided by the 3rd respondent. 4.Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the 3rd respondent to take note of the petitioner's representation dated 19.04.2014 as forwarded by the District Collector, Kanchipuram vide proceedings dated 05.06.2014, conduct enquiry after issuing notice to the petitioner and respondents 4 and 5 and after hearing them in person, pass a reasoned order on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.
With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
