ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for a direction to the first respondent to delete the name of the second petitioner in the column of the name of the husband/wife and include the name of the first petitioner and issue fresh death certificate of Veerapandiyan to the petitioners.

2. The grievance of the petitioners is that both of them were married to late Veerapandian. As per the case of the petitioners, the first petitioner, N.Selvi got married to the said late Veerapandian first. However, in the death certificate of the said Veerapandian, without mentioning the name of N.Selvi as the wife of the deceased, the name of Shanthi, the second petitioner herein, is mentioned. The said Shanthi herself is consenting and 2/6

praying that the name of the first petitioner is only to be included as the wife in the appropriate column in the death certificate.

3. In view thereof, this Writ Petition is disposed of on the following terms:- (i) The first respondent shall change the entry in the death certificate of Veerapandian, bearing registration No.D-2024:33-16549-002107 and in the column relating to the name of the husband/wife, remove the name of the second petitioner, Shanthi and include the name of the first petitioner, N.Selvi in the said place and accordingly, re-upload/re-issue the death certificate;

(ii) There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
