O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondents 1 and 2 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had lodged a complaint on 06.02.2026 before the Superintendent of Police, Central Zone, Trichy. In the said complaint, it was stated that there exists a civil dispute, namely a property dispute, with the counter complainant, who is none other than the petitioner's brother. It was further stated that there is also a dispute relating to the lease of the property. According to the petitioner, the counter complainant had caused damage to the standing crop. Though CSR. No.102 of 2026 was registered on 03.03.2026, no action has been taken by the police. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present petition seeking adequate police protection.

3. The learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 and 2 submitted that the dispute between the petitioner and his brother is purely civil in nature, relating to property and lease rights and that civil suits are 2/5

already pending between the parties. Pursuant to the CSR, both the petitioner and the counter complainant were called for enquiry, their statements were recorded and they agreed to approach the competent Civil Court for appropriate reliefs. The said undertaking was duly recorded and the CSR was thereafter closed. Subsequently, the present petition has been filed.

Considering the submissions made and upon perusal of the materials available on record, it is seen that the petitioner and the counter complainant are brothers and that the third respondent is a subsequent purchaser. The grievance of the petitioner is that the 3rd respondent is not honouring the vendor's undertaking and the lease arrangement and is attempting to dispossess the petitioner from the property. Admittedly, civil suits are already pending between the parties. Therefore, it is open to the petitioner to approach competent Civil Court to file appropriate petition for police protection and other reliefs.

5. In view of the above, this Court is not inclined to entertain this petition. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 09.06.2026 AT 3/5
