O R D E R

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 05.04.2025 for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 406, 420 of IPC and Sections 4(1), 76(1) of Chit Funds Act, 1982 in Crime No.05 of 1/4

2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused alleged to have cheated the public at large to the tune of Rs.25,00,000/- under the guise of running a chit transaction. Hence, the case.

3. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) reiterated the prosecution case and opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the gravity of the offence committed by the petitioner and the magnitude of the money involved, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 2/4
