O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have taken suo motu proceedings yesterday (W.P.No.22303 of 2016) in respect of a particular incident on reference by a learned Single Judge so that necessary precautions can be taken to detect crime as and when it takes place. In so far as the petitioner is concerned, who is working as a job typist and a recognised advocate clerk, he seeks to raise the issue of law and order by relying on press report and feels he is insecure. Law and order situation is a ground reality and the press report is of an incident. The police authorities are required to take necessary steps. There cannot be a general direction of merely saying law and order should improve. 2.We are, thus, not inclined to pass any orders on this petition, more specifically because the suo motu proceedings have been taken up by us yesterday.

3.Writ petition is, accordingly, closed. No costs. Sd/- Asst.Registrar (CS III ) /true copy/ Sub Asst. Registrar To 1.The Principal Secretary to Governor, Governor's Secretariat, Raj Bhavan, Chennai 600 022.
