O R D E R

The petitioner, who was apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 408, 409 and 420 of IPC in Crime No.45 of 2024, seeks anticipatory bail. 1/6

The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant namely A.Kasi, Assistant Registrar, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Science lodged a complaint before the respondent police stating that the petitioner along with other accused have involved in a financial fraud amounting to over Rs.1.58 Crores and further alleged that they have solicited substantial sums of money from students under the pretext of securing their admissions and these funds have not been duly paid to the institution. It is also further alleged that the money so collected was taken in cash and utilized by the petitioner towards the purchase of two houses in her name and also multiple transactions of money showing that the funds from students are misappropriated to the accounts of this petitioner, her husband and son. Hence the complaint.

3. By order dated 15.07.2024, this Court granted interim anticipatory bail to the petitioner and directed him to deposit a sum of Rs.20,00,000/-, subject to certain conditions.

4. Thereafter, the petitioner filed a petition seeking modification of condition No.6(b). This Court, by order dated 02.08.2024, modified the said 2/6

condition to the effect that the petitioner shall deposit a sum of Rs.15,00,000/- instead of Rs.20,00,000/-.

5. The matter is listed today and it is reported that the petitioner has complied with the interim direction including the deposit of the said amount. It is also brought to the notice of this Court that the investigation has been completed and the final report has been filed.

6. It is further submitted that the case has been taken cognizance in C.C.No.255 of 2025 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Poonamallee and summons were issued on 19.01.2025 and the same has also been served on the petitioner herein.

7. Considering the fact that the investigation has been completed and the final report has been filed and the case is pending for trial, this Court in inclined to make the interim anticipatory bail already granted as regular bail. 3/6

8. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is ordered. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 27.11.2025 kmm 4/6
