The petitioner is the legal heir of Thiru.K.Umachandran, who worked as Work Inspector Grade-II in Public Works Department. The father of the petitioner died in harness on 06.02.1997. He was only six years old at that point of time. The mother of the petitioner, who is stated to be an illiterate lady, submitted an application for appointment on compassionate ground after the death of the employee. The said application was not taken up for consideration presumably on the ground that the petitioner was a minor. The petitioner, after attaining majority, submitted an application on 11.11.2014 requesting the respondents to give him appointment on compassionate basis. The present request is to direct the first respondent to consider and dispose of the said representation on merits. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.
3. The first respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 11.11.2014, in the light of the earlier representation given by the mother of the petitioner and the related order dated 02.05.2000 returning the said application on the ground that the petitioner is a minor. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
