The petitioners, who apprehend arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 4(1)(aaa), 4(1-A)(ii) of TN Prohibition Act, in Crime No.399 of 2024, on the file of the respondent police seek anticipatory bail. 2.The case of the prosecution is that on 31.05.2024, when the respondent police on their regular duty for routine vehicle checkup, at that time they found that petitioners were in possession of 125 litres of illegal sprite. Hence the case has been registered against the petitioners. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners have not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and they have been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted petitioners were in illegal possession of 125 litres of illicit Sprit and same were seized and sample of the contraband were sent to the Forensic Science laboratory, Vellore for Chemical analysis and the report is yet to be obtained. CRL.O.P.No.14672 of 2024 dsn A-1 has got 5 previous cases and A-2 is the wife of A-1. Hence, he strongly opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

5. On seeing the gravity of offence committed by the petitioners, further it needs detailed investigation, hence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
