ORDER
The petitioner is a senior citizen. She is the owner of the property situated at Plot No.181, comprised in S.No.20 of Amaravathi Street, Ganapathy Varadharajuly Nagar, Krishnarayapuram Village, Coimbatore. She states that she had given a representation on 28.01.2025 to the District Revenue Officer invoking the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. As no action has been initiated on her representation, she has come forward with the present writ petition.
2. Heard Mr.M.Jaikumar for the petitioner; Mr.K.H.Ravikumar for the 1st respondent; and Mr.V.Meganathan for the 2nd respondent.
3. The appropriate authority under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, to deal with the representation made by the petitioner, is the Revenue Divisional Officer of the area concerned.
4. A look at the paper shows that the said authority has not been moved by the petitioner. Nonetheless, she made a representation on 28.01.20025 to the District Collector and the District Revenue Officer. Hence, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to forward the papers to the jurisdictional revenue divisional officer. This exercise shall be completed within a period of
two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order by the 1st respondent. On receipt of the papers from the 1st respondent, the jurisdictional Revenue Divisional Officer shall enquire the petitioner and respondents 3 to 5 and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks thereafter. In the result, this writ petition is ordered accordingly with the above directions. No costs.
